Monday in Alaska

Beachgrass
Things look a bit different than the last time I posted pictures.

Winter is definitely here. These pictures were taken early this afternoon.

The plow is on the plow truck ... and the most sunlight we see these days is the sun in the trees at the edge of the yard. Soon we won't even have that. (We're behind a hill, so we get no direct sunlight from November to mid-February.)

*shivers*

This makes me cold just looking at it. Plus we're getting a cold front from your direction tonight and the temperature is going down into the teens.

I don't know if I could do with no direct sunlight for four months. Low sunlight, sure, but none, I don't know. Sounds like you've adjusted though.

There's still sunlight in town - small quantities of it, anyway! But yeah. I guess you just get through it because there's not really a choice. It's always nice when the sun comes back.

It's both stunningly beautiful and also looks so cold and dark that I shiver. I... don't miss the Swedish winters. Alaskan ones would probably drive me insane. But I appreciate you sharing photos of the pretty!

Thank you! :) Yes, Alaskan winters are best appreciated from a distance, I think ...

I grew up in the sunniest place in the North American Continent. Alaska winters would kill me.

ahahaha. Yeah, I don't blame you. But at least we're on the good side of the winter solstice, and things are getting brighter ...

So when they say "stick it where the sun don't shine"...they mean take it to Layla's house.

Got it. :D
