More pictures of snow-covered trees

Most of Wednesday's snow melted off. But it snowed again yesterday, and the effect is much the same -- the trees are more yellow now and less green, but it's still very striking with the golden backdrop under the snow. It's starting to look less likely that we're going to make it back to autumn before winter comes down on us full force! Here are a couple pictures I took yesterday evening on a walk out to the beaver pond near the house:

Today, it's still cold enough that nothing has really melted, but the sun is very striking on the snow and yellow leaves! This first picture was taken from the deck. The one below it is looking down at the creek that runs through our property (the stairs in the foreground are an old set of wooden stairs off the deck that now lead to the creek bank).

It really is lovely out there! I wished I'd taken my camera when I drove to campus this morning; in particular, there's a cemetery I drive past, and the white expanse of snow with the yellow trees looked amazing.

So much for our plein air plans for September! YIKES! Not ready for this at all, yet. So much left to do! I'm pretty sure I didn't get all the tools up from around the yard, either!

So gorgeous! :D

As before, I'd love to live in Alaska. It was in the low 70's again today, and the dust and pollen count was insane. My allergies are *not* happy. What's the temperature there, out of curiosity? Cold enough for the water to freeze over yet?

The closest snow we've gotten was in Colorado which is a few states away. In between Kentucky and Missouri, I doubt either place will get snow yet, considering how warm it is.

Happy snow days! :)

Very pretty! I have trouble wrapping my head around snow right now when it only got down to 78° (with high humidity) here last night. It has snowed in central Florida twice in living memory, apparently, but both well before I got here.

I hope you're enjoying the weather.

So very very pretty snow-covered trees! I mean, it's early, but it really does make for some lovely shots! ^__^
